Why asphalt shingles get brittle in North Texas
An asphalt shingle is a fiberglass mat saturated with asphalt and surfaced with granules. The asphalt contains oils that keep the shingle flexible. Heat drives those oils out. The honest framing is this: rejuvenation buys time. Insurance and hail, honestly
A rejuvenated roof is a more flexible roof, and flexible shingles handle hail impact better than brittle ones. That is a real benefit.
