What to do while you wait for a repair
- Put a container under the drip and photograph the stain with a date
- Move furniture and electronics away from the affected area
- If the ceiling is bulging with trapped water, relieve it with a small hole in a controlled spot rather than letting it collapse
- Do not climb up to tarp a wet roof yourself; wet shingles and steep DFW pitches send people to the emergency room every storm season

- Small repairs such as pipe boot replacement or resealing a section of flashing are typically the least expensive work we do. Repairs involving decking, valley rebuilds or multiple penetrations cost more. We give a price after diagnosis, not over the phone from a photo.
- Can you find a leak if it only leaks sometimes?
- Usually. Intermittent leaks are often wind-driven, meaning water only enters when rain is pushed sideways into a wall or flashing detail. We inspect the attic for staining patterns and trace the path upslope, since water rarely enters directly above the stain.
- Will a repair void my roof warranty?
- A repair by a qualified contractor generally does not void a manufacturer material warranty, but workmanship warranties are contractor-specific. If your roof is still under another company's workmanship warranty, call them first. We will tell you that instead of taking the job.
