Hail Claim Restoration on a Mid Century Ranch in Richardson

A denied first inspection turned into an approved full replacement after we documented the damage properly and met the adjuster on the roof.

Mid century ranch home in Richardson, Texas with a new charcoal architectural shingle roof after hail damage
The completed restoration, approved after a documented re-inspection.

Why they called us

A spring hail storm moved through Richardson and a neighbor two doors down had already been approved. This homeowner filed, got a partial denial, and called us because she did not know how to challenge it or whether she even should.

The problem

The initial adjuster report counted four hits in a test square and called it cosmetic. Our inspection found bruising across three slopes, damaged turtle vents and a dented HVAC fin bank that corroborated the storm date.

Challenges

The re-inspection took eleven days to schedule. We gave the homeowner a status update every few days so she never had to ask where things stood.

What we did

We documented every slope with dated photos and chalk marked test squares, then met the adjuster on the roof for a re-inspection. The claim was approved for a full replacement plus a supplement for code required decking and drip edge. We installed the new roof once the scope was agreed, and the homeowner paid her deductible and nothing beyond it.

My claim was denied and I had accepted it. They looked at the roof, told me honestly that they thought it was a valid claim, and then stood on the roof with the adjuster and walked him through it. I paid my deductible and that was it. They never once pressured me.
